While the interface of the game remains old, it offers far more engaging activities than modern massively multiplayer online games. OSBuddy is a separate toolkit that you can use to enhance the gameplay of OSRS by using different modules, editing layout, and adding plugins. Consequently, the developer released Old School RuneScape (OSRS) that kept the game’s original interface but increased the adventures and combat skills. Both these games were visually better but lacked the panache of RuneScape Classic. To counter this issue, the developer Jagex released RuneScape 2 and later RuneScape 3. However, after a few years, the game began to lose its market share to games with better graphics and sound. The browser-based game was free for anyone who wished to play and featured several activities to keep everyone engaged. When RuneScape got published in 2001, it became one of the largest RPGs, with over 200 million accounts worldwide.
